About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Duty Manager to join our team at AF Blakemore & Son Ltd's Rhyl SPAR store. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for supporting the Store Manager in leading and motivating a team of colleagues to deliver exceptional customer service and drive sales growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Store Manager in ensuring a safe, legal, and high-performing store environment.
- Assist in delivering all store operations, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Manage, coach, and support colleagues to develop a motivated and empowered team through a positive and engaging management style.
- Carry out performance management and absence management as necessary.
- Take responsibility for occasional opening and closing of the store, colleague safety, and stock/cash security/accountability during shifts.
- Conduct cash reconciliations, voids, and refunds, and other management tasks for till colleagues.
- Model exceptional customer service and lead the team to work together to provide an outstanding customer experience.
- Work with colleagues to promote the store by identifying and acting on opportunities to engage with and support the local community.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and processes.
Requirements:
- Previous management or supervisor experience within a food retail or similar fast-paced operation.
- Commitment to achieving and sustaining exceptional customer service standards.
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize effectively.
- Capacity to communicate and influence at all levels.
- Ability to take appropriate action and make decisions.
- Commitment to promoting collaborative working.
- Enthusiasm and flexibility with a positive attitude.
- Commitment to developing own skills and applying learning to improve own performance.
