Plant Operator Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Plant Operator to join our team in Plymouth. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the operation and maintenance of our water treatment facilities, ensuring the continuous delivery of clean and safe water to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and Monitor Plant Equipment: Ensure efficient and reliable water treatment processes by operating and monitoring plant equipment.
  • Perform Routine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Conduct Regular Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of plant facilities to identify any potential issues or safety hazards.
  • Monitor Water Quality: Monitor water quality parameters and make necessary adjustments to treatment processes as needed.
  • Follow Safety Protocols: Follow standard operating procedures and safety protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Respond to Alarms: Respond promptly to alarms or equipment malfunctions and take appropriate action to resolve issues.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Maintain accurate records of plant operations, equipment maintenance, and water quality data.
Qualifications:
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience in a similar role within the water industry is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Water Treatment: Knowledge of water treatment processes and equipment is highly desirable.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance tasks.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Communication Skills: Good communication skills.
