Are you a seasoned Musculoskeletal (MSK) Specialist eager to elevate your professional journey?
The Southern Health MSK team is seeking to onboard two full-time lead MSK specialists to enhance our service delivery. Our teams are integral to a comprehensive MSK service dedicated to providing exceptional care and rehabilitation. We are open to discussions regarding flexible working arrangements.
Collaborating closely with both primary and secondary healthcare professionals, our teams cater to the local population in outpatient environments throughout the region. We receive referrals directly from General Practitioners and Orthopaedic Consultants, as well as self-referrals. Our service is bolstered by a robust rehabilitation team that works in tandem with registered professionals to offer personalized rehabilitation and group therapy sessions.
Our team is devoted to ongoing professional growth and champions evidence-based practices. In addition to managing a diverse MSK caseload, you will have the chance to cultivate leadership abilities by overseeing junior staff and students. As a valued member of our team, you will gain access to a comprehensive professional development program, which includes regular clinical supervision, funding for continuing professional development through our ACE academy, and support for advanced practice initiatives. Our specialized physiotherapy service has also established an apprenticeship program that enables experienced staff to enhance their clinical skills.

Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct advanced musculoskeletal assessments of patients, including those with complex conditions, and develop a diagnosis and treatment strategy as an independent practitioner.
2. Participate in the supervision, education, and evaluation of senior and junior staff, rehabilitation assistants, physiotherapy students, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
3. Act as a deputy for the Team Leader when necessary.
4. Engage actively in the development of services for the department, the Trust, and the broader profession.
5. Complete assigned tasks from the team lead in a timely and professional manner.
6. Oversee, initiate, and engage in evidence-based projects, assist in implementing changes within the designated team/area, and establish and monitor standards of practice.
