Spire Healthcare is seeking an experienced Oncology Nurse to join their team at Spire Portsmouth Hospital.

We are looking for a compassionate and skilled nurse to support our patients with complex and changing health needs.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 1-2 years' experience working in a similar environment and be qualified in venepuncture and cannulation, with evidence of regular competency assessment.

As an Oncology Nurse at Spire Healthcare, you will be responsible for assessing patient health and well-being, organisation of certain parts of the cancer journey, cannulation and delivery of chemotherapy, and providing patient/relative/carers support, education and delivery of information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support in assessing patient's health and well-being across a complex and changing caseload.
  • Organisation of certain parts of the cancer journey.
  • Cannulation and delivery of chemotherapy.
  • Patient/relative/carers support, education and delivery of information.
  • Supporting outpatient oncology clinics where bad news may be delivered.
  • Provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious information.
  • Develop own knowledge and skills and that of others.
  • Promote best practice in health and safety and security.
  • Assist in maintaining and developing services.
