Business Development Manager Role

At Macfarlane Packaging, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies to drive business growth and expand our customer base.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute sales plans to achieve business targets and expand the customer base.
  • Negotiate commercial terms to maximize profitability and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, cold-calling, and marketing activities.
  • Conduct customer packaging audits, make recommendations, and prepare proposals/quotations to close deals.
  • Collaborate with regional sales teams and national sites to support colleagues and drive business growth.
Requirements:
  • At least two years' experience in a client acquisition-focused field sales role with a proven track record of success.
  • Proven success in B2B product sales through a solutions-based approach, with the ability to tailor solutions to client needs.
  • Strong negotiation skills combined with strategic thinking to effectively solve customer problems.
  • Proficiency in planning and executing sales campaigns, including cold-calling, networking, and obtaining referrals.
  • Highly self-motivated with strong perseverance, energy, and resilience.
