Job Title: Grass Hoppers Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced manager to lead our Grass Hoppers team at Tong Garden Centre. As a manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the team delivers exceptional customer service, oversees the daily operations of the play area, and effectively manages the front of house team and catering staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, communicate, and deliver the Grass Hoppers strategy across the whole business.
  • Work with the Group Play Manager to plan 6 months in advance on marketing campaigns, seasonal flux in business, and seasonal activities.
  • Ensure all operational processes, such as rotas, parties, and play sessions, are delivered to maximum efficiency.
  • Conduct regular motivational and inspiring team meetings to ensure consistent communication with the teams.
  • Work with P&C to ensure we have the right people in the right roles who are well trained, engaged, and motivated.
  • Monitor team behaviours and performance, taking appropriate action promptly when necessary.
  • Plan capacity of Grass Hoppers sessions to maximise revenue in advance, taking into account factors such as the weather, school holidays, and seasonal impact.
  • Deal with customer complaints should these be escalated from the supervisors.
  • Manage and embed Grotto or other activities procedures, ensuring all customers have a great experience.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise:
  • Strong leadership with good people management skills and the ability to develop a strong team.
  • Highly organised with excellent time management.
  • Previous customer service experience and the ability to handle conflict in a professional manner.
  • Ability to carry out administrative duties such as rota planning, activity planning for parties and play sessions, staff reviews.
  • Experience working in hospitality environments.
  • Strong managerial skills and previous experience managing a team.
  • Experience with budgeting and rolling out multiple projects.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, with a flexible approach to handling setbacks.
