Job Summary
The Worcester Polytechnic Institute is seeking a part-time adjunct faculty member to teach Philosophy and Religion courses. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Philosophy and Religion and the ability to teach introductory, intermediate, and advanced courses.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Philosophy and Religion courses, including introductory, intermediate, and advanced topics
- Develop and implement course syllabi and lesson plans
- Assess student learning and provide feedback
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development
Requirements
- PhD in Philosophy or Religious Studies, or ABD with a strong background in Philosophy and Religion
- Teaching experience in Philosophy and Religion, with a focus on introductory, intermediate, and advanced courses
- Ability to teach a diverse student population and contribute to a inclusive learning environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching bioethics, philosophy of science, epistemology, non-Western philosophies and religions, and critical race theory
- Ability to teach introductory courses in Philosophy and Religion
- Experience with curriculum development and implementation
