Painter and Decorator Specialist

Havencourt Care Home is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our facilities.

• Evaluate the size of areas to be painted and prepare work areas for painting
• Erect and install scaffold towers, work platforms, and stepladders to ensure safe access
• Prepare surfaces for painting, including removing old paint and filling in cracks and holes
• Paint interior and exterior walls using brushes, rollers, and other tools
• Apply coatings, coverings, and claddings on external walls
• Inspect painted surfaces and rectify any flaws or defects
• Remove tools and supports and clean work areas
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks
• Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues
• Install appliances and equipment
• Conduct garden and yard upkeep, including mowing lawns and collecting trash
• Maintain, service, clean, and properly store equipment
• Inspect and repair damages to building surfaces
• Participate in various projects, including renovations
• Report maintenance issues to the Maintenance Manager

• SVQ Painting and Decorating qualification
• Consistent and successful working history
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication skills
• Experience working in care homes or large units is beneficial
