Job Title: Test Rig Control Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Test Rig Control Systems Engineer to join our Structures Test Team at Airbus. This role is based onsite in Filton, Bristol.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering technical specialisms in industrial control systems and/or test data acquisition. This will involve a mix of hands-on lab and office-based work.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Delivery of technical specialisms in industrial control systems (MOOG Aerospace test software, MTS Aeropro preferable) and/or test data acquisition (HBK, Catman preferable).
  2. Understanding of hydraulics - specifically servo-hydraulic control.
  3. Assistance when required to deliver structural tests.
  4. Communication and reporting of progress to the test leader/test customers.
  5. Coordination of all internal and external contributors/stakeholders/suppliers.
  6. Anticipation, identification and management of risks & opportunities.
  7. Participation in the test centre SQCDP and weekly team meetings.
  8. Support the development of training methodology and material.
  9. Risk assessment, Safe Systems of Work & Health / Safety Compliance.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  1. Educated (or equivalent proven experience) in control systems engineering or a related discipline (e.g. Aerospace, Electrical, Systems, Mechanical, Physics).
  2. +5 years of experience in:
    1. Delivery of projects to time, cost, quality.
    2. One of the following disciplines: Instrumentation, control systems, data acquisition, hydraulic control.
  3. Pioneering spirit, open to new ideas/innovation.
  4. Good communication skills, multifunctional work and customer focused.
  5. Team worker.
  6. Proven ability to deliver.
  7. MS Office and G Suite.
  8. English: Negotiation level.
Desirable

Experience in structures, materials or systems testing would be an advantage.

This role requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company's success, reputation and sustainable growth.

This role requires 100% onsite working in Filton, Bristol.
