Thames Water Inventory and Supply Team

The Thames Water Inventory and Supply team is responsible for managing critical materials, field engineering parts and tools, and mobile plant across our distribution centers, strategic hubs, and depots. We operate 24/7 to provide real-time equipment service and support the Thames Water businesses in meeting their service commitments.

As a Plant & Equipment Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our inventory management system. You will be responsible for managing the real-time availability of mobile plant and equipment, coordinating deliveries to field teams, and maintaining strict adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards.

• Plant & Equipment Management: Ensure all plant and signage/barriers are properly receipted, secured, delivered, and collected in line with customer service levels.
• Process Monitoring & Reporting: Establish robust processes for monitoring, reporting, damage control, and maintenance of all plant and signage/barriers.
• Real-Time Visibility: Provide real-time visibility of plant and signage/barrier holdings through SAP or related systems.
• Compliance & Governance: As custodians of plant equipment, ensure controls and processes are in place to comply with audit and governance protocols.
• Plant Hiring & Off-Hiring: Manage the hiring and off-hiring of plant through our internal team and/or nominated suppliers to optimize real-time usage, efficiency, and cost control.
• Damage Management: Coordinate and manage the plant damage procedure effectively.
• Maintenance & Repairs: Ensure all plant is in good working order and that necessary repairs/services are carried out according to manufacturer recommendations.
• Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate and address any discrepancies promptly with relevant stakeholders and internal specialists.

We seek a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with proven experience in plant hire and operational environments within the utilities sector.

• Demonstrable experience in a plant hire &/or operational environment in the utilities sector.
• Experience managing budgets effectively.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding.
