About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team at Yorkshire Water. As a key member of our Bioresources department, you will play a crucial role in the delivery of AMP7 capital projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a stream of projects within the Bioresources Capital programme, ensuring timely delivery, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Collaborate with other business areas to deliver AMP7 Bioresources capital expenditure projects, ensuring project risks are managed in line with business targets.
  • Act on behalf of the Project Sponsor, with overall accountability for the delivery of individual projects, managing project scope within agreed limits.
  • Ensure project risks are understood, reviewed regularly, and escalated to the Programme Manager/Sponsor as appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain effective internal and external relationships within the organisation.
  • Manage time, cost, and quality throughout the project lifecycle from definition to benefits realisation phases.
  • Monitor and manage project financial targets, implementing appropriate solutions to help recover identified shortfalls.
  • Manage H&S (CDM) requirements.
  • Be responsible for the successful operation of the capital funding process and the resolution of any issues that arise in a timely manner.
  • Drive continuous improvement to proactively identify and remove waste from team processes and activities.
Requirements
  • Qualified or working towards a qualification in Project Management discipline (APM, Prince 2, Agile).
  • Extensive knowledge of the project lifecycle.
  • Proven track record of delivering Capital Projects.
  • A proven track record of managing contractors and influencing performance improvements, with a good understanding of quality assurance practices.
  • Understanding of resource planning and risk management.
  • Experience of applying different delivery models based on business need.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organisation and personal management skills.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritise and execute tasks in a dynamic, changing environment and make sound decisions.
  • Full valid driving licence.
Desirable
  • Good understanding of Bioresources, specifically sludge treatment technology.
  • Previous experience in a commercially orientated and/or regulated environment.
  • Experience of delivering against challenging business targets.
  • Experience of supporting and embedding change, able to influence and drive the right culture and behaviours.
