Role Overview:
The Secure Waste Site Manager plays a pivotal role in the oversight, enhancement, and expansion of our secure waste management operations. This position focuses on implementing best practices to ensure top-tier customer service and a secure disposal process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the secure destruction of client materials, ensuring exceptional service and instilling confidence in our operations.
- Establish and maintain the necessary infrastructure to promptly address client requirements.
- Pursue continuous improvement in site performance and contract management to meet EBIT objectives.
- Collaborate with the Regional General Manager to develop long-term strategic plans aligned with the Division's annual Business Plan while overseeing daily operations.
- Ensure compliance with site permit and legislative requirements, maintaining high standards of safety and operational integrity.
- Engage with regulatory bodies and local authorities to foster compliance and positive community relations.
- Identify and cultivate new business opportunities to enhance stakeholder value while optimizing costs without compromising safety.
The Secure Waste Site Manager will actively engage in relationship management, negotiation, and team leadership. A strong adherence to processes and regulations is essential, along with a commitment to confidentiality and compliance with service level agreements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum GCSE or equivalent in Mathematics and English.
- COTC 4MTSH certification is desirable.
- IOSH / NEBOSH qualifications are advantageous.
- Experience in a transfer station, materials recovery facility, or similar environment.
- Proven expertise in people management and health & safety protocols.
- Demonstrated success in achieving defined service delivery KPIs.
- Experience in profit and loss management.
- Knowledge of current and upcoming environmental and health and safety regulations.
- Familiarity with waste industry legislation.
- Commercial acumen.
- Resilience and ability to thrive under pressure.
- Experience in building and maintaining client relationships.
