About the Role:

As a Financial Accountant at Playground Games, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Finance Director and wider Finance team in delivering effective financial processes within the Company and Parent Company standards and timeframes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Month End processes, including reconciliations, journal processing, completion of month end packs, and maintenance of organized records.
  • Prepare relevant information for the Year End Audit process, including maintaining records in line with audit requirements and providing accurate and timely information to auditors.
  • Maintain appropriate records and prepare returns for Company taxes, including Corporation tax, VGTR, VAT, PSA, and ERS.
  • Provide efficient finance assistance with the company's budgeting process.
  • Assist with ad-hoc reports, projects, queries, and reconciliations as needed.
  • Support the purchase processes as necessary.

Procurement Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective support to deliver an efficient Procurement function that meets the needs of the Company.
  • Accurately generate NDAs, draft Master Supplier Services Agreements, and draft Statements of Work.
  • Maintain key administrative Procurement systems, ensuring records are kept up to date and effectively track procurement activity.
  • Work with the broader Finance team to monitor and enforce Procurement policy compliance.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of using Sage, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office, including Outlook and Word, and advanced skills in Excel.
  • Knowledge and previous experience in an accounting role, with a practice background preferred.
  • A professional qualification, ACCA, ACA, or CIMA must be held.
  • Understanding and demonstrable experience of procurement processes.
  • High attention to detail and accurate analytical skills.
  • Professional attitude and ability to work in a confidential manner.
  • An organized approach, planning tasks, and setting realistic timescales.
  • Flexibility to be involved in a number of finance support activities at a time.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with team members and other disciplines.
  • Be a champion for Playground Games and everything we produce.
  • Adhere to company procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
