Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Animator to join our animation team. As a Lead Animator, you will be responsible for guiding the creation of high-quality gameplay animation assets and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the animation team to deliver high-quality gameplay animation assets and systems.
  • Work with Art Directors and Art Leads to shape and uphold the project direction and vision.
  • Deliver the vision for features and animation systems, empowering feature owners and members of the animation team to do so.
  • Collaborate with related teams on block-out to final animations and systems, ensuring seamless integration with non-gameplay animation where required.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of animation principles, dynamic poses, keyframe animation, and motion capture methods.
  • Experience with motion capture data and relevant pipelines, as well as Unreal Engine or similar game engines.
  • Experience with Motion Matching and State Machines development.
  • Experience shooting and directing motion capture for gameplay animation.
  • A passion for video games and an understanding of current trends in relation to animation.
  • Experience mentoring and growing an animation department.
  • Understanding of facial animation.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of animation principles and techniques.
  • Experience with game engines, motion capture data, and relevant pipelines.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine or similar game engines.
  • Experience with Motion Matching and State Machines development.
  • Experience shooting and directing motion capture for gameplay animation.
  • A passion for video games and an understanding of current trends in relation to animation.
