Job Summary

My Ohana is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nursery Room Leader to join our team. As a key member of our childcare staff, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of your own room, promoting good practice and serving as a positive role model for our children and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of your room, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for children.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, keeping them informed of their child's progress and involving them in their child's learning journey.
  • Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, meal times, and other activities to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Lead and support your team in planning and implementing activities that meet the needs of children, adhering to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of children's progress, including observations and next steps.
  • In the absence of the nursery manager or deputy, assist with the overall management of the nursery and supervision of staff.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective team approach to childcare.

Requirements

  • Minimum Level 3 childcare qualification.
  • Proven experience working with children from birth to 5 years.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
