ROLE OVERVIEW
The ideal candidate will be assigned to a designated facility or a cluster of smaller sites, where you will oversee the effective provision of facility services, including caretaking, porterage, and cleaning operations.
Your responsibilities will also encompass minor security tasks and maintenance duties, as well as participation in emergency weather response, fire safety protocols, and university events, which may occur outside standard working hours.

Within the Facilities & Estates department, we offer a variety of high-quality, customer-oriented services that significantly enhance the student experience in terms of study, work, and living conditions.
Our services are delivered through a combination of in-house teams and specialized partner solutions.Our goal is to provide an exceptional student experience by creating a world-class campus environment, focusing on customer service, continuous improvement, cost-effectiveness, and operational efficiency.
The positions available will be based at either City or Coach Lane campus, with an expectation to work flexibly across both locations as needed. The requirement to work outside university core hours, including weekends and public holidays, will be pre-arranged based on business needs.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
To excel in this position, you should possess:
A broad understanding and capability to perform practical tasks related to caretaking and porterage.
A solid grasp of minor maintenance and DIY tasks, along with the ability to work efficiently and promptly.
The capacity to respond effectively to emergency situations, such as first aid, fire incidents, and flooding.
Flexibility to accommodate business activities outside of standard hours, including weekends, public holidays, and shift changes with appropriate notice.
A valid UK driving license and the ability to operate a Luton/Transit or similar lightweight vehicle.
Ladder/PASMA certification or a willingness to undergo training.
