The Role

We're seeking an experienced Transport Director to lead our transport service, ensuring the efficient movement of cars from sellers to dealers across the UK, Germany, and Spain. This strategic leader will develop and implement a comprehensive transport strategy, design and build the transport service, and lead a high-performing transport team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a transport strategy for efficient car movement
  • Design and build the transport service, including appraisal and inspection processes
  • Lead a high-performing transport team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration
  • Oversee day-to-day transport operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective car movements
  • Continuously evaluate and improve transport processes, leveraging technology and data
  • Establish and manage relationships with transport companies, negotiating contracts and service levels
  • Manage the transport budget and P&L, ensuring financial targets are met
Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years in the automotive industry and logistics, with a focus on car movements
  • Proven experience in building and leading transport or logistics services from scratch
  • Experience building and leveraging tech solutions, partnering with Product teams
  • Deep understanding of the automotive markets in the UK, Germany, and Spain
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage relationships with stakeholders
