Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Arksey Primary School. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of our pupils.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver learning activities to individuals and groups of pupils, adjusting activities according to pupil needs and evaluating lessons as appropriate.
  • Monitor and evaluate pupil responses to learning activities through a range of assessment and monitoring strategies, supporting their learning and progress.
  • Record progress and achievement in lessons/activities systematically, providing evidence of range and level of progress and attainment.
  • Be aware of and support difference, ensuring pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
  • Contribute to the overall ethos and aims of the school.
  • Establish constructive relationships and communicate with other agencies/professionals to support achievement and progress.
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
  • Experience of successful working with children with additional learning needs, including SEMH and SLCN.
  • Experience of focussed interventions to support pupils with English and/or Mathematics difficulties.
  • Knowledge of a range of learning strategies to assist and support pupils.
  • A clear understanding of the use and implementation of IT to support pupils with their learning.
  • Ability to communicate appropriately and professionally with children, parents/carers and professionals.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and work independently to manage own tasks.
