About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Python Developer to join our Market Data Platform team at Man Group. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing a low-latency, high-throughput tick data platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop real-time data ingestion and distribution systems using Python and relevant technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with existing systems and data pipelines.
  • Develop high-quality, intraday price datasets across multiple liquid asset classes.
  • Build tools for data visualization and management at terabyte scale.
  • Continuously improve reference data systems used by systematic strategies.
  • Optimize the use of open-source technologies such as Kafka, ArcticDB, and MongoDB.
About the Team

Our Market Data Platform team is responsible for capturing, storing, and managing petabyte-scale data feeds that drive research and trading processes across Man Group. We are a collaborative and dynamic team that values innovation, technical expertise, and open communication.

Requirements
  • Strong technology skills with a focus on Python, Linux, and relevant database technologies.
  • Experience with collaborative software engineering techniques, agile development, and continuous integration.
  • Proficient in one or more programming languages, including Python, Java, or C/C++.
  • Good knowledge of relevant database technologies, such as Oracle or MongoDB.
  • Familiarity with a variety of programming styles, including object-oriented and functional programming.
