Mobile Service Engineer - Exeter

Plantforce Rentals Ltd is a leading supplier of self-drive and operated construction plant equipment across the UK.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with our Southwest field service team, mainly based from our Exeter depot with some requirement to work from our Liskeard depot as needed, servicing and maintaining a wide range of construction and earthmoving equipment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • The routine servicing of construction equipment in line with manufacturers' schedules and specifications.
  • Regular lubricant and fluid monitoring and replenishment.
  • Preventative maintenance and monitoring.
  • Fault reporting.
  • Cleaning, inspecting, and preparing plant for transfer or redeployment.
  • Fitting replacement parts.
  • Collaborating with other team members on larger maintenance and repair tasks.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Full driving license.
  • Good mechanical knowledge.
  • Experience with plant and construction equipment and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience conducting routine maintenance to a required level and standard.
  • Understanding of risk assessments and method statements.

Desirable Behaviours:

  • Proactive and self-motivated.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good time management.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative.
  • Able to work as part of a team as well as independently.
