Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our Board as a Vice Chair. This is a unique opportunity to provide strategic leadership and valuable insight to support the direction of the sport.

About the Role

The Vice Chair will assist the Chair in leading the overall direction of the organisation, and in delivering the overall strategy for the sport. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Chair in leading and directing the Board
  • Sharing responsibility with the Chair for legality and probity in the conduct of the organisation
  • Providing strategic guidance and building strong relationships
  • Participating in the corporate planning process, including agreeing annual budget plans
  • Having a good understanding of corporate responsibility and risk management

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • High level of understanding and interest in Sports Governance
  • A commitment to the values and principles of the organisation
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Experience of committee work
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Ability to understand complex strategic issues, analyse and resolve difficult problems
  • Sound, independent judgement, common sense and diplomacy
  • High standards of personal integrity and probity
  • Politically astute, with the ability to grasp relevant issues and understand relationships between interested parties
  • Clear understanding, and acceptance, of the legal duties, liabilities and responsibilities of board members
  • Excellent knowledge of governance
