Materials Testing Specialist Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Materials Testing Specialist. This is a unique opportunity to develop your skills and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic industry, working on a range of infrastructure projects within the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct various materials tests on a wide variety of projects, including earthworks, concrete, soils & aggregates, and asphalt.
  • Accurately collect, record, and report test results using both manual and digital tools.
  • Assist in the maintenance and calibration of testing equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Work closely with senior technicians to ensure that all tests comply with industry standards and project specifications.
  • Prepare detailed reports on test results, identifying any issues and making recommendations for improvements.
What We Offer:
  • Competitive salary of £24,000 per year with incremental increases each year.
  • Monday to Friday schedule.
  • 40 hours per week (overtime available).
  • 25 days annual leave.
  • Pension Scheme.
Requirements:
  • 18+ years old.
  • Full Manual Driving License.
  • Access to your own car.
Apprenticeship Details:

Over 21 months, you'll devote a minimum of 6 hours of your working week on 'off the job' training. This can include theory training, practical training, and time spent writing assignments. You'll be trained by an expert tutor from Tiro as well as an experienced mentor at Simtec.
