Job Overview:

As a Senior Systems Engineer at Leonardo, you will be a key member of our specialized engineering team responsible for delivering cutting-edge solutions in cyber security research, digital platform development, and security monitoring and incident response. You will work on a wide range of projects, from concept exploration to in-service support, and will have the opportunity to develop your expertise in requirements management, system architecture, and design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to system design and low-level design using technical expertise and best practices
  • Develop, integrate, and test system solutions, including the development of scripts for system automation and integration
  • Provide progress and status reports to internal customers
  • Configure and administer system security tools, including SIEM systems, IDS/IPS, and Endpoint Detection and Response
  • Troubleshoot system issues and faults to diagnose problems and offer proposed solutions
  • Implement security control measures, including enabling operating system lockdown controls
  • Develop systems engineering artefacts, including documentation to support the delivery and maintenance of system solutions
  • Provide specialist technical support to the business unit, supporting the project or wider programme
  • Work with external third parties, such as vendors and resellers, to develop robust and costed solutions

Requirements:

  • Good working knowledge and experience of Wintel IT systems
  • Broad scope of skills and experience of mainstream IT infrastructure services and components, including Microsoft Active Directory services, Windows and Linux server installation and builds, virtualisation technologies, and Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Practical experience of implementing security policies and system lockdowns, including Microsoft Active Directory GPOs, application whitelisting/blacklisting, and device/media control
  • Implementation and management of enterprise-class patching/update solutions, including Microsoft WSUS
