Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead our Mechanical Platform Systems team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering critical ship services and crew life support capabilities for our next-generation nuclear submarines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of Mechanical Platform Systems Engineers to ensure the delivery of safe and reliable products
• Coordinate and develop a team of Technical Systems Engineers to support the design and development of critical systems
• Cultivate change and help revitalize and sharpen current structures, processes, and support current programs
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with external and internal stakeholders across all levels
• Mentor and develop junior members of staff to help them grow in their careers

Requirements:

Essential:
• Strong Mechanical Engineering and Fluid Systems background
• Strong communication and influencing skills
• Ability to build relationships with external and internal stakeholders across all levels
Desirable:
• Degree-level qualification in a STEM subject or extensive experience in a similar role
• Chartership is also preferred
• Experience working in Defence or other high-risk industries
