Culinary Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cook to join our team at Potters Bar Clinic. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality meals to our service users, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring efficient and effective food preparation and service.
- Maintain good food storage procedures and stock rotation, adhering to established protocols.
- Prepare, plan, and cook meals to a consistently high standard, taking into account special requests and dietary requirements.
- Provide excellent customer service, serving food and beverages in a professional and courteous manner.
- Assist in food costings through effective cost control procedures, ensuring the kitchen operates within budget.
- Participate in food safety and hygiene practices, adhering to 'Safer Food Better Business' standards and record-keeping.
- Take full shift responsibility for the catering operation, ensuring seamless service delivery.
- Contribute to menu planning and development, researching and creating new menu ideas that meet healthy eating guidelines.
- Be 18 years or older.
- Hold GCSE or equivalent English.
- Hold City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 (or equivalent) Basic Food Preparation Cooking.
- Hold Basic Food Hygiene certification (essential).
- Hold Intermediate Food Hygiene certification (desirable).
- Have previous experience in a similar environment.
- Have previous experience in delivering a service on mass.
- Have menu planning, costing, ordering, stock control, and budget experience.
