Position Overview

The Global Press Office Intern will play a vital role in supporting the operations of the Global Press Office. This position involves engaging with international media and providing assistance to journalists across various platforms. The focus will be on communicating scientific advancements from Elsevier's extensive portfolio of journals, corporate updates, technological innovations, and global research initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to ensure the smooth functioning of the Global Press Office.
  • Assist in the editing, proofreading, and dissemination of press releases through national, global, and scientific media channels.
  • Foster media relationships by responding to inquiries, monitoring social media interactions, and compiling news coverage reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Support the distribution of daily newsletters and manage media access codes for various platforms utilized by journalists worldwide.
  • Prepare monthly media reports and presentations to track engagement and outreach efforts.
  • Compile and maintain updated media lists for outreach purposes.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently graduated in journalism, communications, research, or a science-related field, with a keen interest in media relations.
  • Native or near-native proficiency in English, with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced skills in Excel.
  • Demonstrated organizational abilities and a proactive approach to tasks.
  • Capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work with impartiality.
