Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Design and Delivery: Oversee the technical design and delivery of multiple concurrent projects, ensuring high-quality results and meeting client expectations.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, direct, and train staff while undertaking project work, setting a positive example for others in the company.
  • Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients, identifying potential work and contributing to business growth.
  • Project Management: Prepare fee budgets, proposals, and resource requirements for projects under your control, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate with other engineers in regional offices and technical groups, managing the preparation of calculations, drawings, and other documents.
  • Risk Management: Identify and manage risks for projects under your control, ensuring they are mitigated to agreed-upon levels.
Requirements:
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of DMRB/MCHW and detailed design experience on road schemes above £5M construction value.
  • Professional Qualifications: CEng + MICE and/or MIHT or Experienced near-chartered engineer with 10-15 years of experience.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and experience with MicroStation, Microsoft Project, Civils 3D, MX, Infraworks, Windes/Microdrainage, PDS Sign/Line, Arcady, and Lighting Reality.
  • Design Experience: Alignment design, Drainage design, Pavement design, Road restraint design, Signs & Markings design, and Lighting design.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of related highway disciplines, including structures, earthworks, ITS, landscaping, road safety, traffic analysis, and BIM protocols in BS1192.
