Job Title: Practice Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Practice Nurse to join our team at The House Partnership. As a Practice Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our practice.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing the health needs of our patients, providing nursing advice, and promoting healthy lifestyles. You will work collaboratively with our nursing team to influence and implement policy and change in the practice, ensuring that our patients receive the best possible care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess the health needs of patients and provide nursing advice
  • Provide treatment room duties, including suture/clip removal, basic and complex wound care, ECG, phlebotomy, and urinalysis
  • Give vaccinations under patient group directions and be responsible for ordering vaccines and their correct storage
  • Assist with monitoring and support of the management of patients with long-term conditions/chronic diseases, using a holistic patient-centred approach
  • Assist with the cervical screening programme
  • Administer prescribed drug therapy and ensure safe custody of drugs
  • Assist with Warfarin monitoring
  • Assist in the provision of minor surgery, coil and implant fittings
  • Assist with the co-ordination of Infection Control policy and audit
  • Chaperone patients when required
  • Provide training and supervision to junior members of nursing staff
  • Ensure confidentiality on all matters relating to patients and information obtained during the course of employment
Person Specification

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Practice Nurse who is registered with the NMC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team.

Desirable qualifications and experience include phlebotomy, complex wound care, travel vaccinations, and diabetes care.
