Role Overview:
The Learner Engagement Officer will be instrumental in attracting learners to the program and providing ongoing support throughout their journey. Key responsibilities include:
  • Conducting monthly reviews and sourcing local work placements.
  • Building strong relationships with local and national employers to create job opportunities.
  • Collaborating with team members to ensure learners are matched with suitable placements and receive necessary support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engaging with local authorities, NEET teams, schools, colleges, and referral agencies to establish connections and recruit learners.
  • Achieving recruitment targets for all vocational programs.
  • Serving as the primary contact for learners, guiding them through the enrollment process.
  • Conducting initial interviews, ensuring eligibility checks are completed, and managing enrollment documentation.
  • Facilitating regular one-on-one progress reviews to discuss career pathways and work placement options.
  • Coordinating with teaching staff and participating in weekly meetings to develop tailored learner journeys, including Individual Learner Plans (ILPs).
  • Performing home visits as needed to support attendance.
  • Networking with agencies, parents, and caregivers to enhance learner support.
  • Assisting learners during their work experience placements to maintain motivation and engagement.
  • Matching learners with appropriate placements and providing ongoing support through site visits and progress check-ins.
  • Guiding placement providers to understand their role in supporting student development.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Level 2 Qualification in English and Maths.
  • Experience in an educational or vocational training environment, or a solid understanding of the challenges within such settings.
  • Able to engage, inspire, and motivate young individuals.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to connect with stakeholders for recruitment and progression.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the local area, with occasional overnight stays.
  • Access to a car and a full driving license.

This position is subject to enhanced DBS and employment checks.
