Youth Support Specialist

We are seeking dedicated Youth Support Specialists for our YEF (Youth Endowment Fund) initiative. In this position, you will play a crucial role in establishing positive connections with young individuals, providing guidance, support, and promoting social development.

Your focus will be on working with disengaged or at-risk youth to minimize initial and repeat offenses through mentorship, diverse support mechanisms, and active participation in their development programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively present and convey enthusiasm while establishing and nurturing relationships with various stakeholders, including parents, caregivers, students, and young individuals.
  • Build trusting connections with youth through active listening, empathy, and respect.
  • Design, organize, and implement innovative individual action plans and interventions aimed at fostering personal growth, leadership abilities, and community engagement.

This role is based in the East Midlands/West Midlands area, offering convenient commuting options.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with offenders or individuals facing multiple or complex challenges.
  • Proven experience in delivering both one-on-one and group services.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving targets within a performance-driven environment.

Knowledge of the criminal justice system and relevant legislation, such as the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act, would be advantageous.
