About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy Directorate Team as a Senior Leadership Role. This is an exciting opportunity to provide leadership to an experienced team and contribute to the development of our medicines optimisation strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Leadership and Management
  • Provide leadership to the Pharmacy Team, ensuring effective management of resources and delivery of high-quality services.
  • Support the Chief Pharmacy Officer and Associate/Assistant Directors in discharging their duties, ensuring compliance with statutory Pharmaceutical Acts and Directions.
Strategic Development
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the ICB strategy to improve the quality and cost-effectiveness of medicines management and prescribing.
  • Interpret national evidence and guidance, developing and overseeing the implementation of policies to ensure ICB compliance.
Collaboration and Communication
  • Work closely with the wider healthcare system to integrate pharmacy and medicines optimisation.
  • Provide specialist advice to the organisation, working to tight and often changing timescales.
Requirements
  1. Education and Qualifications
  • Educated to masters level or equivalent level of experience in a specialist area.
  • Pharmacy degree and educated to masters level or equivalent level of experience in a specialist area.
Experience and Skills
  • Experience of clinical audit, change management, strategic development, project management, and leadership.
  • Experience of staff management and performance management, including budgetary.
  • Ability to identify risks, anticipate issues, and create solutions.
