We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Higher Assistant Psychologist to join our Scarborough, Whitby & Ryedale Community CAMHS Team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with external and internal partners to review, improve, and deliver services to the community.
The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of the mental health difficulties experienced by children and young people, and an understanding of the therapies and other interventions used in treatment. They will also be able to demonstrate an ability to recognise and manage common physical health complications experienced by children and young people experiencing Mental Health and Neurodevelopmental difficulties.
Main Responsibilities- Work as part of the Multidisciplinary Team to provide an effective service.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including CAMHS Crisis Team, Schools / Education Providers, the Local Authority, GP's and specialist services.
- Develop and maintain high standards of personal and professional development.
- Degree in psychology.
- Eligible for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society.
- Numeracy, Literacy and ITQ level 2 (or equivalent).
- Further post graduate training in relevant areas of professional psychology, mental health practice, youth work, work with offenders and/or research design and analysis.
- Experience working as a psychology assistant (or equivalent).
- Experience working with people with mental ill health or learning disabilities.
- Experience of working with patients who present with high levels of risk.
This is a 12 month fixed term/secondment opportunity. The successful candidate will need to have agreement from their current line manager that they can be released on a secondment basis if they wish secondment to be considered.
The successful applicant will be required to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes.
