Are you interested in joining a client-focused and collaborative team?
We are seeking a Care Assistant to provide support to a wonderful individual with cerebral palsy and a learning disability in her residence. The role will encompass personal and household care, mobility assistance including hoisting, implementing therapy programs, and facilitating social and recreational activities.
It is important to note that there are pets in the home.
Prior experience and a valid driving license are mandatory.
An NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in care and proficient IT skills are preferred.
The position offers 12 hours per week initially, structured in four-hour shifts to accommodate varying times throughout the day on a flexible basis to support a 24/7 schedule.
Compensation is set at £14.50 per hour.
This role necessitates a fully enhanced disclosure request from the DBS.
Additionally, you will be required to register with the DBS Update Service.
Previous applicants need not apply.This position is open to female candidates only due to the nature of personal care involved.
In light of current circumstances, interviews will be conducted via teleconferencing tools, thus candidates must possess the capability to attend interviews through these methods.

*This recruitment for Female Care Assistants is due to a genuine occupational requirement of the individual we support, making this role exempt from the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9.
What you will possess:
Essential:
- An NVQ (or equivalent) in care, with recent training being advantageous.
- Experience in caring for individuals with physical and/or learning disabilities.
- A positive interest in active rehabilitation and a commitment to enabling this individual to achieve her full potential.
- Female candidates only (in compliance with Paragraph 1, Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010 relating to Occupational Requirements).
- A full UK driving license and confidence in driving the client's vehicle.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly with the client, her family, and other professionals involved.
- A DBS on the update service or the ability to complete an enhanced DBS if selected. Initial DBS check will be covered by us.
Desirable:
- Current training in areas such as Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Health and Safety, Infection Control, Food Hygiene, Manual Handling, First Aid, and Safeguarding.
