About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing specialist occupational therapy services to children and young people affected by foetal exposure syndromes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of occupational therapists in providing high-quality, patient-centered care to children and young people with complex needs.
  • Develop and implement occupational therapy services to meet the needs of our patients, including assessment, treatment, and management of sensory, social, physical, and cognitive difficulties.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines, policies, and procedures to ensure best practice in occupational therapy.
  • Provide education and training to staff, patients, and families on occupational therapy principles and practices.
  • Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives to advance the field of occupational therapy and improve patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Graduate Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
  • Extensive post-graduate work experience in acute or community paediatrics.
  • Advanced paediatric course and significant experience at senior level in paediatrics.
  • Active participation in research, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to influence change in practice and disseminate information to staff and patients.
  • Excellent clinical knowledge of acute and/or long-term paediatric occupational therapy.
