Advanced Clinical Practitioner

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our team in the Forensic Secure Inpatient Services in Stafford. The successful candidate will be a qualified, enthusiastic, and highly motivated first-level registered nurse (Adult or Mental Health) who has successfully completed an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice.
Main Duties of the JobThe Advanced Clinical Practitioner will be responsible for providing autonomous clinical assessment and treatment, demonstrating clinical expertise at an advanced level, in both physical and mental health/LD for patients within the forensic mental health/LD setting. The successful candidate will be expected to embody the ability to manage clinical care in partnership with individuals, families, and carers, and will be required to take responsibility for own learning and development by recognising and taking advantage of all opportunities to learn, in line with core professional competencies of the Advanced Clinical Practitioner.

QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Essential
- Professional regulated core qualification with the NMC/HCPC
- Postgraduate qualification in NMP and Advanced Health Assessment
- Relevant Master-level qualification
Desirable
- Qualifications in Project Management and/or Quality improvement
- Mental health/LD postgraduate qualification
- Clinical Supervision qualification
Experience
Essential
- Extensive experience in a management/clinical/practitioner leadership role within mental health/LD setting
- High level of clinical expertise in working with people's mental health/LD
- Extensive experience of working in mental health/LD services
Desirable
- Experience of working in a forensic health or prison setting
- Experience of service development and transformation
- Experience of working in a physical health setting
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES
Essential
- Knowledge of current national agenda relating to the NHS, social care sector, and forensic mental health/LD services
- Ability to involve service users in co-creation and coproduction
- Knowledge of evidenced-based interventions when working with service users for a variety of presentations
Desirable
- Postgraduate psychotherapy evidenced-based practice skills
- Knowledge of change theory
