Job Title: Research Assistant

Job Summary:

Hopkins Van Mil (HVM) is a social research agency that works with clients across the public sector on various issues. We are seeking a Research Assistant to support our team in delivering a range of deliberative social research projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the HVM team in managing projects, including using project management tools and communicating with team members.
  • Recruit participants for research and dialogue through working with recruitment agencies and community groups.
  • Provide technical support for online workshops, including 1:1 sessions with participants.
  • Organize transcription of audio recordings with the Administration Support team.
  • Set up coding frameworks and analyze qualitative data using NVivo and Excel software.
  • Support Event/Tech Support freelancers by sharing knowledge and resolving issues.
  • Work with researchers and project leads to undertake desk research and develop stimulus materials.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Transcribe audio recordings into anonymized transcripts.
  • Facilitate small groups for HVM deliberative projects.
  • Identify and appraise options for innovative ways of working.
  • Support report writing for research projects.
