Job Summary

The Duty Manager plays a vital role in ensuring a seamless and secure environment for all guests during their stay. As a key member of the hotel team, you will be responsible for welcoming guests, providing exceptional service, and supervising staff to deliver high-quality service and meet brand standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish strong relationships with hotel departments to ensure a wonderful guest experience.
  • Utilize every opportunity to promote hotel facilities and maximize sales through sound product knowledge and selling skills.
  • Manage and supervise all tasks of staff to ensure the highest quality service is delivered and brand standards are met.
  • Analyze rate variance reports to ensure rooms revenue control, approve discounts and rebates.
  • Communicate with the Front Office Manager on all matters regarding guest services and hotel operations.
  • Supervise shift handover procedures and coordinate with other departments as required.
  • Provide management presence at all times by assisting with the handling of guests' needs and complaints.
  • Inspect front of house and back of house regularly for cleanliness and orderliness.
  • Ensure front line staff complies with marketing techniques and maximizes sales.
  • Check billing instructions, monitor guest credit, and act upon any discrepancies.

Requirements

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken (and a 2nd language would be a plus).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong team player.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities and the ability to lead by example.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the UK.
