Job Title: Lead Maintenance Supervisor

Our prestigious client is a leading processor and recycler of WEEE waste in the UK, promoting a sustainable solution for recycling. With over 35 years of experience, they have major contracts with local authorities, utility companies, and businesses alike.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Maintenance Supervisor to lead our Recycling Plant & Vehicle Maintenance Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the team's workload, scheduling, and time allocation to identify, schedule, and complete maintenance work across operational sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the Maintenance Team's working practices, covering fault finding, diagnostics, reactive, and planned maintenance across all processing operations, machine types, and vehicles.
  • Recruit and onboard additional Plant Fitter & Mechanic staff as required to ensure efficient management and operations of all aspects of the Maintenance Team.
  • Internal Reporting & Documents Review - to review and update reporting processes and documents, including processing machinery, mobile plant, and vehicles fault finding, risk, and issue logs, planned & reactive maintenance record keeping & documents, HSE, 3rd party suppliers parts & inventory, budget & cost management/approvals with MD & Finance team.
Main Tasks
  • Inspect and troubleshoot industrial shredders, granulators, conveyor belts, and other plant machinery.
  • Carry out inspections on plant machinery.
  • Conduct routine scheduled maintenance work for lorries.
  • Perform preventative maintenance.
  • Welding activities when necessary.
Requirements
  • Previous heavy plant, mechanical, and electrical experience.
  • Experience in repairing mobile plant such as forklifts and lorries.
  • Background in lorry (HGV) maintenance or any vehicle maintenance.
  • Experience in repairing any machinery such as conveyor belts, industrial shredders, granulators.
  • Experience in repairing/maintaining any industrial machinery.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems - an advantage but not essential.
  • Welding skills.
  • Fluent English required.
  • UK Driving License.
