Our esteemed client, a leading processor and recycler of WEEE waste in the UK, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Team Lead to join their Recycling Plant & Vehicle Maintenance Team.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of Plant Fitter Mechanics, overseeing all aspects of Maintenance Team operations, and ensuring the efficient management and maintenance of processing operations, machine types, and vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and improve Maintenance Team working practices, including fault finding, diagnostics, reactive, and planned maintenance.
  • Recruit and onboard additional Plant Fitter & Mechanic staff as required to ensure efficient team operations.
  • Internal Reporting & Documents Review: review and update reporting processes and documents, including processing machinery, mobile plant, and vehicles fault finding, risk, and issue logs, planned & reactive maintenance record keeping & documents, HSE, 3rd party suppliers parts & inventory, budget & cost management/approvals with MD & Finance team.

Main Tasks:

The Maintenance Team Lead will be responsible for managing team workload, scheduling, and time allocation to identify, schedule, and complete Maintenance work across operational sites. They will also participate in and be responsible for carrying out scheduled & reactive Maintenance tasks, including:

  • Inspecting and troubleshooting industrial shredders, granulators, conveyor belts, and other plant machinery.
  • Carrying out inspections on plant machinery.
  • Carrying out routine scheduled maintenance work for lorries.
  • Preventative maintenance.
  • Welding activities when necessary.

Candidate Attributes and Experience:

  • Previous heavy plant, mechanical, and electrical experience.
  • Experience in repairing mobile plant such as forklifts, lorries.
  • Background in Lorries (HGV) maintenance or any vehicle maintenance.
  • Experience in repairing any machinery such as conveyor belts, industrial shredders, granulators.
  • Experience in repairing/maintaining any industrial machinery.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems - an advantage but not essential.
  • Welding skills.
  • Fluent English Required.
  • UK Driving License.
