Brighton, Brighton and Hove, United Kingdom University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (279) Full time

Job Overview

An exceptional opportunity has emerged within the specialty medicine division for a band 6 nurse to step into the role of deputy manager for the Acute Medicine and Endocrine Ward (C5). You will collaborate with fellow band 6 nurses, providing support to the band 7 ward manager within a well-established nursing team.

The C5 ward comprises 27 beds and caters to both male and female patients. It serves as an acute Endocrine/Diabetic/medical ward located in a state-of-the-art facility.

We invite applications from individuals who possess a valid UK NMC registration. Unfortunately, we are not currently hiring Internationally Qualified Nurses who require sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities

This position is ideal for a proactive individual with strong leadership capabilities to oversee the daily operations of the ward's nursing team. A solid understanding and clinical experience in delivering exceptional patient-centered, evidence-based care is crucial.

The role is suited for a mentor with outstanding communication skills and significant experience at band 5 level, ideally within an acute medical environment.

Candidates must showcase evidence of recent professional development and have pursued a leadership course, along with having completed a Diabetic module, which would be beneficial. You will receive support in your role from a ward manager, practice educator, and clinical matron.
