About the Role

The Chelmsford City Council is seeking a Private Sector Housing Assistant to join its Strategic Housing Service. As a key member of the team, you will provide support to the Private Sector Housing Officer in acquiring private owned homes to help the Council meet its duties to those at risk of homelessness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and IT support to the Private Sector Housing Officer
  • Communicate effectively with a wide range of people from all sectors of the community
  • Work in a front-line, customer-facing role, providing excellent communication skills
  • Travel frequently around and beyond the district
  • Work 37 hours per week with a flexible working pattern to fit business needs and work-life balance

Requirements

  • Good knowledge and experience of working in the housing/property sector
  • Excellent communication and administrative skills
  • Ability to work in a persuasive way with a wide range of people
  • Experience working in a front-line, customer-facing role
