Are you a sports graduate eager to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children with additional needs or from disadvantaged backgrounds? We're seeking a dedicated Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel in Bradford.
Role OverviewAs a Specialist Teaching Assistant focusing on sports within SEN provisions, you'll play a vital role in supporting the educational and physical development of children with special educational needs and those from disadvantaged backgrounds in Bradford. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting Tailored Learning: Assist in delivering tailored lessons that integrate sports and physical activities, designed to meet the unique needs of each child, fostering both their academic and physical development.
- Providing Individualised Support: Offer one-to-one or small group assistance, focusing on helping children with additional needs or those from disadvantaged backgrounds to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
- Leading Inclusive Sports Activities: Organise and lead adapted sports sessions and extracurricular activities that promote physical fitness, teamwork, and confidence-building, ensuring all children can participate and benefit.
- Collaborating on Inclusive Events: Work with colleagues to plan and implement inclusive sports-related events, such as adapted sports days, tournaments, and fitness challenges, creating a supportive and enriching environment for all students.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or a related field.
- A genuine passion for working with children, particularly those with additional needs or from disadvantaged backgrounds.
- Previous experience working with children with SEN or from disadvantaged backgrounds is highly advantageous.
