About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Stroke Physician Specialist to join our dynamic team at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care and management in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of stroke-related illnesses.
  • Liaise with multidisciplinary teams, including Emergency Medicine, Medicine, and Care of the Elderly, to ensure seamless patient care and management.
  • Participate in clinical governance processes, medical audit, and continuing professional development to maintain and improve stroke care services.
  • Supervise and manage junior medical staff, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of stroke care policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with national guidelines and best practices.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance stroke care services, including the development of new treatments and therapies.
Requirements
  • Advanced knowledge and expertise in stroke medicine, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality patient care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to supervise and manage junior medical staff.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing competing demands.
