Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Manager - Supply Chain Expert to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing all Purchasing functions, including inventory management, negotiation with suppliers, and schedule and track shipments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute all Purchasing functions, including inventory management, negotiation with suppliers, and schedule and track shipments.
  • Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to ensure efficient supply chain operations.
  • Support Kalsec inventory reporting for Business Units as needed.
  • Monitor inventory and coordinate with Kalamazoo Manufacturing Team production schedules to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with Kalsec Quality and Procurement requirements, including collection of required documentation.
  • Address and respond to supplier performance issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Report and monitor crop conditions in growing regions, including travel to ensure supplier compliance and worldwide supply conditions.
  • Assist Director of Procurement in various projects, including Make/Buy initiative and others as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant Procurement or Food Industry experience, with a solid understanding of negotiation practices and inventory control.
  • Experience with Food Ingredients and a strong understanding of technical product specifications in the area of food products and/or spices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel as needed to ensure supplier compliance and worldwide supply conditions.

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in a relevant field, such as Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience as a buyer, preferably in the food industry, with a strong understanding of inventory control practices.
  • Extensive and demonstrated understanding of sourcing model analysis and ability to apply this knowledge to drive business results.
  • Enthusiasm for engaging with diverse environments and cultures, relationship building, and international travel.
