Economist in Wholesale Markets

Economic expertise is crucial to the Financial Conduct Authority's regulatory decisions and strategic direction. Our Wholesale Markets – Policy Analysis team requires a Senior Economist to provide in-depth analysis and economic advice on wholesale financial markets.
The successful candidate will contribute to the development of robust cost-benefit analyses for policy interventions, ensuring they meet the rigorous standards of the CBA panel and withstand external scrutiny. They will also collaborate with other FCA areas on analytical projects, which may involve tight deadlines and varying levels of complexity.
This role offers the opportunity to learn about, understand, and shape the workings of the financial sector during a period of significant change. The Senior Economist will have the chance to influence policy and deliver meaningful work that makes a real difference to consumers and markets.

Key requirements include a degree in economics or a related discipline, relevant professional experience, and proven analytical and quantitative skills.
