Trainee Childcare Educator

Position Overview
Under the guidance of the Assistant Childcare Manager, support the daily operations of the Nursery in alignment with all Trust and Nursery policies and protocols.
Foster and enhance effective practices within the Nursery by collaboratively creating an engaging environment for the children in your care, ensuring adherence to The New Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to facilitate appropriate developmental progress for each child.
Key Responsibilities
Contribute effectively to achieving the Trust's vision, strategic goals, and key initiatives.
As a designated key worker for a specific group of children, oversee the documentation of their Learning Journeys. Engage in their supervision, enabling them to flourish by providing a nurturing, stimulating, and educational atmosphere where children of all ages can thrive. This will allow you to offer constructive feedback to parents. Build relationships with parents and promote their involvement in the nursery, being empathetic and responsive to their preferences. Provide encouragement when suitable.
Maintain relevant and effective communication with team members, participating in team briefings and Nursery Staff meetings.

Job Responsibilities
1. Communicate relevant information regarding your children to your Senior Practitioner to facilitate the assessment of strategies for their personal growth.
2. Adhere to and act in accordance with Trust Child Protection Policies and Procedures.
3. Uphold high standards of hygiene within the Nursery, promoting children's awareness by serving as a positive role model. Follow appropriate Food Hygiene Guidelines when preparing and serving meals.
4. Advocate for Equal Opportunities within the nursery, demonstrating sensitivity to children's cultural, socio-economic backgrounds, gender, and language abilities.
5. Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of your work, ensuring that all sensitive information related to children, parents, staff, and professional contacts is handled with discretion.
6. Ensure optimal utilization of available resources within the Nursery.
7. Contribute any additional skills and competencies relevant to the role, as agreed upon with the Assistant Childcare Manager.
Qualifications
Essential
- 3 GCSEs, including English or equivalent qualifications
Desirable
- Recent Paediatric 12-hour First Aid Certification.
Experience

- Experience working in a childcare environment, responsible for assigned key children

- Ability to create an appropriate learning environment.
