About the Role

Ascent is seeking a seasoned Principal Data Architect to join our expanding Data and AI team. This is an exceptional opportunity to work with customers and develop their data ecosystems, leveraging Microsoft's modern cloud data platform technologies.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for modern data architecture and management, with expertise in data platform and/or mesh architecture, data management, governance, and compliance. They will also possess strong customer consulting and empathy skills, as well as the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Consult with customers to develop their data ecosystems, leveraging Microsoft's modern cloud data platform technologies.
  • Design and implement data architecture solutions that meet customer needs and drive business value.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data management and governance best practices are followed.
  • Develop and maintain reusable processes and frameworks for data management and governance.
  • Assist customers in expediting and improving their organization's data maturity through data management across key areas, including data modeling, metadata management, data classification, lineage, security, master data management, data quality, governance, and compliance.
Desired Skills

  • Familiarity with Data *Ops processes like DataOps, AIOps, and MLOps.
  • Hands-on data engineering skills.
  • Exposure to working with data scientists.
  • Understanding/interest in AI/Generative AI and how it is shaping modern data ecosystems.
