Mobilisation Specialist

IKM Testing UK is seeking to expand its Workshop Division by adding two Mobilisation Specialists. While prior experience in this capacity or a related field within the Oil & Gas Services sector is advantageous, it is not a strict requirement. Candidates should be prepared for an onshore role that involves significant manual handling and should be located within a reasonable commuting distance.
Key Responsibilities
- Review mobilisation lists and engage in coordination meetings to ensure accurate item listings for mobilisations and demobilisations.
- Oversee the receipt and handling of de-mobilised equipment in accordance with established procedures.
- Identify equipment shortages promptly and communicate the need for purchase or rental orders to the engineering team.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to facilitate the placement of Purchase and Rental Orders.
- Work with suppliers to secure competitive pricing for commonly used items.
- Maintain communication with operations and other departments regarding delivery schedules for mobilisations and the timely receipt of hired equipment.
- Ensure that rentals are returned in compliance with company procedures.
- Develop an understanding of Dangerous Goods labelling and documentation, ensuring compliance prior to mobilisations.
- Coordinate with the Logistics Coordinator to ensure all shipping and transportation documentation is accurate and complete.
- Verify that all necessary certifications are available for equipment load out.
- Manage inventory levels to ensure adequate supplies of spare parts and consumables for operational needs.
- Obtain Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all new products.
- Work closely with the Senior Mobilisation Technician to oversee personnel in the yard during project mobilisations and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Organise the return of third-party equipment and manage the quarantine of defective goods.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of deliveries and mobilisations, documenting the process with photographs.
- Allocate items and maintain accurate records of equipment, including serial numbers and specifications.
- Organise equipment in the yard, ensuring a tidy and designated arrangement.
- Perform all duties in accordance with company policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
- Travel to various company sites as required to fulfill job responsibilities.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Dangerous Goods Management for land and sea.
- Familiarity with fittings and equipment.
- Certification for operating overhead cranes.
- Forklift Truck license for vehicles up to 16T.
Experience Requirements
Essential:
- Fundamental understanding of Pipeline and Process Testing equipment used in both onshore and offshore environments.
- Knowledge of cargo handling and packing for various container types.
Preferred:
- General knowledge of procurement, logistics, and warehousing practices.
Personal Attributes
- Previous experience in the Oil and Gas industry is essential.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently.
- Proficient in building relationships across various departments.
