Job Title: Senior Design Manager

Sir Robert McAlpine is seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Manager to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for delivering technically compliant and cost-efficient design solutions on construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish the quality of the design and verify the stage of design development.
  • Identify areas where the compliant design could be improved to offer a better value solution.
  • Confirm the design is compliant with Statutory Requirements, including Planning Permission, Building Regulations, and CDM regulations.
  • Assess the suitability of the proposed design and provide advice on proposed changes.

Requirements:

  • Member of a professional body (e.g. CIOB, RICS, ICE, RIBA).
  • Experience in the construction industry, specifically on design and build, new build, and refurbishment projects.
  • Good knowledge of current CDM and Building Regulations.
  • Experience as Design Manager on £100m+ projects.
  • Client engagement experience.
  • Industrial sector experience would be an advantage.
