Babcock International Group is seeking a skilled Business Systems Analyst to join our team. As a Business Systems Analyst, you will play a critical role in analyzing, developing, maintaining, and supporting engineering software applications to meet business requirements and deliver solutions in line with business and IT strategy.

The Role

As a Business Systems Analyst, you will provide core skills and consultancy while working as part of a wider team of analysts. You will be a specialist in an area of engineering software as used across the Babcock business. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Investigating operational needs and problems, and opportunities, contributing to the recommendation of improvements in automated and non-automated components of new or changed processes and organisation
  • Supporting with the investigation and resolution of issues relating to applications
  • Assisting with specified maintenance procedure
  • Installing or removing software, using supplied installation instructions and tools including, where appropriate, handover to the client
  • Conducting tests, correcting malfunctions, and documenting results in accordance with agreed procedures. Reporting details of all software items that have been installed and removed so that configuration management records can be updated

This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and is fully remote. If preferred, there is possibility that the successful candidate can work from a Babcock hub, including but not limited to Portsmouth, Plymouth, North or South Bristol, Helensburgh and Dunfermline.

Essential Experience

The ideal candidate will have an IT or engineering related background and experience in managing and maintaining IT solutions. They will also have basic knowledge of one or more of the following:

  • Computer Aided Design
  • Product Lifecycle and/or Data Management
  • Computer Aided Manufacturing, including Computer and/or Direct Numerical Control
  • Design Analysis
  • Integrated Logistic Support and Technical Publications
  • Manufacturing management systems
  • Laboratory Management systems
  • Project controls, planning and reporting

Qualifications

An IT or Engineering related Degree or equivalent qualification is not essential but would be desirable.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
